And down I laid to list the sad-tuned tale,
1、
Every now and then, we like to look off the sides of the Pocket Gamer mothership to see if anyone else appreciates mobile games as much as we do.

Usually, there isn't that much love for our pocket-sized play things to shout or cheer about. Apparently, a lot of people look down on mobile games.

But, as these games get better with every passing year, more people and publications are sharing in our love for them.

This is why we'd like to take a moment to celebrate the fact that both TIME magazine and Metal Gear Solid director Hideo Kojima picked a mobile game as their game of the year.

For TIME, the number one spot in its "Top 10 Video Games of 2014" belonged to the Gold Award-winning 80 Days. Much deserved, as we called it a " sharp, wonderfully written adventure" in our review.

Also representing mobile and handheld gaming in TIME's list are Velocity 2X, Shovel Knight, Monument Valley, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
"Without any doubt"
As for Kojima, he revealed his game of the year via Twitter - how modern of him.

"Played "FRAMED" by L[o]veshack. High sense of gameplay, graphic, & sound. My best game in this year without any doubt," reads Kojima's tweet.

So yes, Loveshack's Gold Award-winning Framed is Kojima's game of 2014. Pretty impressive, don't you think?

Now, obviously, all of Pocket Gamer's top picks of the year are going to be handheld and mobile games, as that's what we deal in.

The question is whether, out of all the games released this year, you'll pick any mobile games as your favourites. Well?

After anxiously waiting for news on The Elder Scrolls: Legends, Bethesda's ended (some of) our suffering as the game's soft-launched on iPad in Canada.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a legendary card battler revolving around turn-based matches between two opponents. Drawing on the lore of the franchise you need to play it smart and build your deck appropriately to defeat your rivals. With the option of single or multiplayer campaigns now's a great time to start mastering the game.

No, it's not 100% released just yet but it's a start. Since its PC open beta back in August, we've been wondering when the mobile version would be released. Hopefully this testing means we're close to having it in our laps this next month.

If you're a Canadian dweller grab the game on the App Store now, or if you're outside of the catchment area but still want to play check out our article on how to make a foreign iTunes account.

3、And labouring in moe pleasures to bestow them
4、"Indeed I will."
First it was the left Joy-Con giving consumers a bit of grief. Now it looks like the whole Nintendo Switch system might be suffering a little - erm - meltdown.

As raised first by Trusted Reviews, a few of the Nintendo Switch bodies have apparently been warping whilst docked and played for several hours.

Reddit user _NSR posted a picture of their somewhat curvy Switch, claiming that the device has spent all of its life in the dock and has been getting a little too hot for its fans to keep up. Others in the comments have also experienced similar issues.

Of course, no one knows the exact reason it's been happening. People in the comments have theories ranging from it getting way too hot, to its battery swelling inside, and so on. Again, these are speculations, so we won't really know the reason until Nintendo gets involved - if they do.

Thankfully for _NSR the bend is minimal and hasn't affected gameplay so far. It's a small silver lining, but it's still not great for a device that's supposed to be able to withstand being played both in and out of the dock.

What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.

2、" Some evenings a strange odor blows down the air of this garden, like a phantom perfume," said Owen. "I have never been able to discover from just what flower it comes. It is elusive and haunting and wonderfully sweet. I like to fancy it is the soul of Grandmother Selwyn passing on a little visit to the old spot she loved so well. There should be a lot of friendly ghosts about this little old house."

"I bought a model of a T-Rex for £4 and built it in six minutes - it's just not worth it," said Alysia. "Even if you do have the creative freedom to paint it neon yellow".
