Buddyman Run hit the mobile market in June, and offers a twist on the usual endless runner genre. You still have to dodge, duck and dive as you cover a course laden with dangerous obstacles. But in this case, you have an extra weapon up your sleeve. Literally. What you can’t jump over you can blast through, using a variety of weapons themed around your chosen Buddyman.

Following on from the Rio themed update earlier this year that dressed the Buddyman world up in carnival colours, this latest update is another vibrant celebration – this time of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.

The festival is a big deal in China, with people across the country celebrating harvest time with elaborate decorations, dragon dancing and eating plenty of mooncakes. Yum. So as you’re shooting and jumping your way around the Buddyman Run map, expect to see cute pandas, bamboo shoots and much more.

And since Chinese Teachers’ Day also takes place in September, the Buddyman Run team have thrown in a new character to choose – an old sensei. Wizened and wise, this master doesn’t need a gun to get through obstacles – he wields a hefty calligraphy brush instead.

The update also includes a new augmented reality skeet shooting game. You have to aim your camera to shoot clay pigeons, toy helicopters and explosive oil drums as they pop up around your environment. A word from a wise old sensei, though - you may want to play this at home if you’re worried about looking a little nutty in public.
Buddyman Run is available from the App Store and Google Play. It’s also been designed with iOS 10 in mind, so don’t worry about the upgrade spoiling the fun."You'd better have been home reading your Bible," was Miss Cornelia's retort.Take all these similes to your own command,
Accomplished in himself, not in his case,
Are we getting closer to Dragon Quest VII finally arriving on iOS and Android?

Hopefully. Square Enix has at least announced that Japan is getting it this week, on September 17th to be precise. As to a western release, well, it still hasn't been mentioned.

At the moment, the only version of Dragon Quest VII available in the west is on the original PSOne. It came to North America way back in 2001.

Since then, Japan has had a remake on the 3DS, and it's this that the iOS and Android version is based on.

We'd love to get an English version of this remake but the prospects aren't great right now. It's got a lot of text to translate, which is probably what has stopped Square Enix in the past.

Still, we can tell you that the Japanese version on iOS and Android will cost 1,800 yen. That means it should be about £10.99 / $14.99 over here. If it ever comes.
Siliconera

Zombie Rollerz: Pinball Heroes is an upcoming Apple Arcade title from Firefly Games. If the name sounds familiar that's because it's a sequel to the free-to-play game Zombie Rollerz. Much like its predecessor then it will mix the shuffling undead with pinball but this time around there'll be some tower defence too.

Players will man a Pinball firing ballista to eliminate the cartoonish zombie hordes. Each run is randomly generated with different content to help every attempt feel unique. Regardless though, players will have to face a powerful Zombie Boss at the end. There will be multiple of these bosses to defeat alongside other characters to collect.

As you can see in the screenshots we've included in this article, it's a very colourful looking game. However, it seems like it might become quite hectic with some of the images looking overly busy for my taste, though it might look different in motion.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit review - "A novel undertaking"
Elsewhere in the world of Apple Arcade, Card of Darkness has been updated with some new content for players to enjoy. This has seen new enemies arrive in the game alongside additional card types and a daily play mode.

This new game variant will procedurally generate dungeons that will get progressively harder as the week wears on. Players will want to save up their gold to collect and upgrade the titular Cards of Darkness so they're better equipped to defeat the Sunday Dungeon with a high enough score to top the leaderboards.

Zombie Rollerz: Pinball Heroes will eventually be available over on Apple Arcade, a subscription service that costs $4.99 per month.
